The process of finding BOOgie MAN. This little cabinet was spotted by ‘R’, and instantly knew that JR ² needed it for their work. A few days went by, JR ² forgot about the discarded cabinet, you know, busy doing other things like painting shed doors. THEN they remembered and they stormed to the place ‘R’ last saw it, and it was sat there just waiting all patiently for JR ². A good friend and manager got a cool video of the duo carrying the cabinet to the car, ready to be transported to the studio the next day. It’s strange all the gems you see out and about when your looking for them, plenty of doors lying about. So there you have it, BOOgie MAN came to them as a wooden cabinet, and left an absolute legend. What happened in 98?

OH FELLA THERE s x m a x x Originally this door was found by ‘R’, 10 minutes before a crit ‘R’ worked onto the door, a few lines in posca pen and some text. Done. Sorted. It then sat in the studio for months. It wasn’t until JR² had run out of objects one night that decided to paint the door white and give it another go. This is when they discovered that before letting the paint dry, they could scrape into it. They scraped in some important dates. 1988 and 1998. It wasn’t until the next day that the duo really hit the ground running with this piece. They’d just had a lovely evening at the cinema, which inspired some of the texts on this piece. And it was their first-time using oil paints, working straight from the tube onto the door gave the quality of paint a really thick texture. Cool. Anyway, it wasn’t the best film they’ve seen if their honest, in fact it was probably one of the worst. Hope you like maths. Fella.

It's been a tough few weeks apart for JR ², there's a global pandemic keeping them apart, all they can do is send each other pictures of found material they've seen on their 'daily' walk and buzz about what they would've done if they had access to a studio. There had been talks of having t-shirts printed for the pair with their logo on the front to use when in the studio because their threads are too nice to be getting dirty, sort of like fashionistas these two. Anyway nothing ever came of it because they're too speedy and forget things right quick. So, what better when the country is in 'lockdown' to make their own custom jumpers, looking like they've done time in prison with their grey crew necks reading 'JR ² EST. 2019' on the front and on the back a lovely quote from one of their works 'a dog has four legs unless it's lost one', JR ² are looking the absolute bomb in this attire. Gotta be careful though, they'll...

Another studio night, another old piece painted white and remade into something new. This wooden box was initially one of JR² first ever pieces, they thought they were on to something, even though they just drew a circle and a line. But confidence is always key, best circle and line you would have ever seen. JR² quickly realised with pieces like this is that as a collective, a massive cluster of loads of found materials, it works. It’s mad how when they are stacked up together, pieces begin to merge, like this. Hesse dead pt. 2 in the back, WHO is at the front, looking like the same piece. However some pieces can just stand alone, Shed DooR could stand alone. Easy. Admittedly not the best piece JR² have made, but hey ho still a good one.
